- Some notes on keyway cutting and woodruff keys:
- This system does not require a keyway / woodruff key and allows you to run the static timing of your choice (typically RD’s and similar bikes run static timing in the range of 1.8-2.2 BTDC). Also if you intend to use a Zeeltronic ignition controller and dynamic ignition curve a keyed rotor timed in the typical range noted above will not allow the Zeeltronic ignition controller to work properly, additional info below.
- Cutting a keyway in the rotor/drum voids the warranty
- The original Yamaha keeway and woodruff key were not intended to be used with the Vape rotor/drum to keep from slipping and absorbing a shear load. They were designed to index timing and once a keeway is cut and woodruff key installed, your timing is fixed and cannot be changed, we don't recommend this modification for these reasons. - Requires no battery or lead acid / MF type battery only, however you will need a battery if you intend to use the stock ignition switch and kill switch and Vape relay

Yamaha RD250/350 Wiring Harness. Reproduction wiring harness for the Yamaha RD250/350 (all years). Due to the high cost of reproduction harnesses and originals being discontinued, Economy Cycle commissioned a manufacturer to do a run of harnesses for the 250/350. All wiring colors and connectors are the same as stock and is a direct fit replacment, but varies from original harness in terms of materials used for loom, color of plastic connectors, and other minor differences, etc. Note: This harness does not work with the later Euro 250's (that looked like 400's with the coffin tank). -
New old stock part - 1 available Yamaha R5/DS7/RD250/RD350/RD400 Horn 12V - OEM Part 4L0-83371-30-00. This is the original horn for the R5/DS7/RD250/RD350. The RD400 horn was discontinued, this horn can be used but the mount will have to be bent to position the horn. -

35V Electrolytic Capacitor. This capacitor can be used to create a battery eliminator which will work on most bikes with CDI ignitions. Instructions for making this capacitor into a battery eliminator can be easily found on the internet, please do not contact us for instructions, this is intended for the do it your selfer with the electrical knowledge and tools necessary to create and wire the eliminator. We also sell a pre-made capacitor battery eliminator here on the site by Zeeltronic. This does not work with bikes with points/condensor/magneto type ignitions. For instance, this eliminator will work with the RZ350 but will not work with the stock RD350/400 ignition. Also Not recommended for use with the Powerdynamo ignition system. -

Battery Eliminator by Zeeltronic. Battery eliminator is an electrolyte capacitor (30000-45000uF/25V) and works on most bikes with CDI ignitions. This does not work with bikes with points/condensor/magneto type ignitions. For instance, this eliminator will work with the RZ350 but will not work with the stock RD350/400 ignition. Not recommend for use with the Powerdynamo ignition. -

Flasher Relay - 12V 3 prong for 21-23W bulbs. By K&L. Note this is not the same 3 prong flasher in the RD400 and will not function the same. You can use the standard 2 prong flasher we have here on the site for the RD400 and your signals will flash, however you will lose the self cancelling function.
