    • Some notes on keyway cutting and woodruff keys:
    • This system does not require a keyway / woodruff key and allows you to run the static timing of your choice (typically RD’s and similar bikes run static timing in the range of  1.8-2.2 BTDC). Also if you intend to use a Zeeltronic ignition controller and dynamic ignition curve a keyed rotor timed in the typical range noted above will not allow the Zeeltronic ignition controller to work properly, additional info below
    • Cutting a keyway in the rotor/drum voids the warranty
    • The original Yamaha keeway and woodruff key were not intended to be used with the Vape rotor/drum to keep from slipping and absorbing a shear load. They were designed to index timing and once a keeway is cut and woodruff key installed, your timing is fixed and cannot be changed, we don't recommend this modification for these reasons.     • Requires no battery or lead acid / MF type battery only, however you will need a battery if you intend to use the stock ignition switch and kill switch and Vape relay

  • 35V Electrolytic Capacitor. This capacitor can be used to create a battery eliminator which will work on most bikes with CDI ignitions. Instructions for making this capacitor into a battery eliminator can be easily found on the internet, please do not contact us for instructions, this is intended for the do it your selfer with the electrical knowledge and tools necessary to create and wire the eliminator. We also sell a pre-made capacitor battery eliminator here on the site by Zeeltronic. This does not work with bikes with points/condensor/magneto type ignitions. For instance, this eliminator will work with the RZ350 but will work will not work with the stock RD350/400 ignition. Not recommended for use with the Powerdynamo ignition system.
  • Battery Eliminator by Zeeltronic. Battery eliminator is an electrolyte capacitor (30000-45000uF/25V) and works on most bikes with CDI ignitions. This does not work with bikes with points/condensor/magneto type ignitions. For instance, this eliminator will work with the RZ350 but will not work with the stock RD350/400 ignition. Not recommend for use with the Powerdynamo ignition.
  • Dial Gauge timing kit for inspection and adjustment of ignition timing. High quality, high precision instrument by Central Tools. 5.0mm range, .01mm increments, 0-100 sweep reading. This gauge will work with the engine in the frame on RD's, R5, DS7 and most bikes. Includes indicator with easy read yellow face, adapter and 2 threaded extension (contact) rods (1-1/2" & 2"), foam padded box and instructions. This is our recommended timing gauge and the same one we use in the shop. Replacements parts available.

  • These key blanks are for the Yamaha RD400 keys, there is a left and right version of the key blank. Compare the blank in the picture to your key to determine right/left. The grooved lines on the key will either face left or right. These grooves will face the same direction looking at the back or front of the key.   • Test the integrity and strength of your ignition system. Spark gap is adjustable from 0 to 10mm. Measure spark strength. Will test the ignition on most motorcycles, watercraft, ATVs & snowmobiles
  • Iginition Timing Tester - Eliminates the guesswork when timing a points-type ignition. Allows you to concentrate on adjusting the points without having to look at your multi-meter for a reading, just listen for the audible tone to know when your points close. A switch allows for either a light or a tone at the moment of point closure Can also be used as a continuity tester.
  • Timing kit for inspection and adjustment of ignition timing; gauge face size 1 1/2". Comes with adapter for air-cooled 2 strokes. Although this is an excellent gauge, we do not recommend it for the RD250/350/400/R5/DS7 as there isn't enough clearance to use the gauge with the engine installed in the frame.   • NGK Spark Plug Caps (Resistor covers). Available in 0, 5K Resistance (Ohms). These caps are just right for the RDs and other 2 stroke vintage Japanese twins. These caps are for the 14mm spark plugs, with a 90 degree angle (elbow) for terminal studs and come with special waterproof covers.

The iridium electrode is 25% smaller than a platinum electrode, and it’s just 1/4 the size of a conventional nickel electrode. The NGK Standard Spark Plug is manufactured to enhance the performance of the vehicle. It is constructed from durable material that is corrosion and abrasion resistant. The Spark plug insulators are made of 99 percent pure alumina silicate, allowing for longer insulator noses for reduced fouling. This Spark plug features a triple gasket sealing process that eliminates fuel leakage. It also includes a solid copper core that provides superior heat dissipation and conductivity. This Spark plug has resistor that is produced with a glass and carbon mixture, which is fired to ensure superior performance and durability.
